Sewerage and Water Board Governance and Operations Reform
The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans provides critical services that are essential to the health and well-being of every citizen of New Orleans, including ensuring adequate supplies of clean and safe drinking water and protection from floods. Its responsibilities are set to expand and become more expensive in the coming years. It is, thus, vitally important, perhaps more than ever before, that the Sewerage and Water Board institutionalize and operate on the cornerstones of effective government: accountability, transparency, fiduciary responsibility, and best practices.
Business Council members, with the assistance of numerous strategic partners, work with the Sewerage and Water Board in support of positioning the Sewerage and Water Board to achieve the level of effectiveness and efficiency commensurate with the magnitude of its infrastructure responsibility and the tax dollars under its management.
