Sewerage and Water Board

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans provides critical services that are essential to the health and well-being all New Orleanians, including ensuring adequate supplies of clean and safe drinking water and protection from floods. Its responsibilities are set to expand and become more expensive in the coming years. It is, thus, vitally important, perhaps more than ever before, the Sewerage and Water Board institutionalize and operate on essential cornerstones of effective government: accountability, transparency, efficiency and the appropriate exercise of fiduciary responsibility.

The Business Council, with the assistance of numerous strategic partners, identifies, promotes and supports Sewerage and Water Board’s adoption of best practices and implementation of projects designed to enable the Sewerage and Water Board to operate effectively and efficiently in the present and the future without undue burden on ratepayers.
